Tackling the housing crisis for Aboriginal families ↓

The Aboriginal Community Housing Industry Association (ACHIA) NSW, a new peak body for NSW Aboriginal Community Housing Providers (ACHPs), is addressing the disproportionately high impact of Australia's housing crisis on Aboriginal families. Through the Coolamon Project, ACHIA NSW, with Sefa's support, is developing innovative ways for ACHPs to achieve financial independence and provide quality housing.

Responding to the diverse needs of the sector ↓

Sefa's collaboration with ACHIA NSW involved extensive discussions with various ACHPs to understand their unique positions and needs. Working closely with Megan Lawrance, Director of Project Development & Implementation at ACHIA NSW, Sefa helped tailor an approach that was both agile and vision-focused. A significant outcome of this partnership was the development of a self-assessment tool to help organisations identify their strengths and areas for growth.

A pathway to more and better housing ↓

This partnership has enabled ACHIA NSW to offer strategic support to ACHPs, enhancing their capacity and sophistication in housing provision. Sefa’s expertise in structuring and utilising diverse capital types has been invaluable. This collaboration not only strengthens ACHIA NSW's support structure but also ensures efficient resource use and clearer goal achievement within the sector.
